Starting Your Summer Fling

Yesterday I received an e-mail from a girl named Kate asking me what the best way to start a summer romance is. Since it’s that time of the year, I thought I’d share some insight with everybody on the easiest ways to start your summer fling off on the right foot.

There are millions of people who log onto passion personals each day, and once spring comes around, that number increases. When people think summer, they think dates and fun afternoons by the beach and romantic dates. It’s almost like an extended Christmas in the sense that no one wants to be alone for it. Thanks to online dating, finding a match online isn’t going to be the hard part; it’s going to be doing fun things together to get that spark going.

The options are countless this time of the year, but I find these to be the most popular options when trying to heat up your summer romance’s first date.

  • Grab an ice coffee and head out for a walk. This one is simple and extremely inexpensive. The coffee will act as a release for endorphins, and the walk will allow you two to have a nice moment together while getting the opportunity to talk and get to know each other. Pick an area that has a lot of stimulating architecture and surroundings so there’s no lack of things to talk about.
  • Pack a picnic and head to the park. Not only is it one of the most romantic things to do during the summer, but it’s also a great chance to get intimate right of the bat. Foods like chocolate covered strawberries are very suggestive and easy to pack, so you won’t have a problem getting them to a picnic. Bringing along a bottle of wine can also help you both relax while warming up on the blanket.
  • Check out a summer blockbuster. Seeing a movie sometimes seems blase, but summer is the best time of the year for cinema. You can always find a movie that you can either laugh at together, or one that can put you both in the mood. Do a little research before hand to see how the movie turns out, and pick one depending on how you want the night to go. Do you want to get scared and cuddle up? Then see the new Scream movie! There’s endless options.
  • Buy a kite! Letting your inner child out is not only a great way to relax, but it puts you both in a carefree mood, which will let you get to know each other easier.
  • Get physical. Playing an outside sport like tennis or catch will let you get to the basics of human instincts with plenty of sweat and exercise to go around. It’s a great bonding experience, and will be a good opportunity to get close if you ask him to show you how to do something you’re unfamiliar with.

There’s no shortage of things to do in the summer sun to begin your fling! Make sure that wherever you go, you’ll be able to relax. Make some plans, get in the sun, and start having fun!

[...] A lot of it has to do with the generation gap. Almost 4 of every 5 people between the ages 22 and 26 have signed up for an online dating site. That’s because they’re from a time where the internet is everything– a source of entertainment, a place to talk with friends, somewhere to do your grocery shopping and everything in between. It only makes sense to them that it’s also the place they look for love. The reason some older people haven’t turned to online dating is because they’re not used to using the internet for daily uses, so they’re simply not comfortable using it for finding a proper match.
