Best Pick-Up Line Ever?

Okay: weirdness. An online personals website called Badoo.com analyzed the success rate of over 200, 000 online flirtations in the period of one month in an attempt to find what was the most successful. Seriously, weirdness of all weirdness, guess what they discovered was the most successful pick-up line?

“You have beautiful lips.”

Do you find this odd? Because I find this very odd. Really? The best online dating pick-up line a man could ever say is “You have beautiful lips”? Why, people, why?  Here’s what a random behavioral psychologist and dating coach named Jo Hemmings has to say about it: “It works, because it’s bold, not cautious. What many women want is for men to take the initiative and not be wish-washy.”

But what if the woman doesn’t have beautiful lips? If she’s decently intelligent, shouldn’t she know this, and thus know that the man is full of bullshit?

We should keep in mind that the success of this pick-up line was only tested on British women. So this might work on the Brit ladies, but Badoo.com discovered that if your online date interest is Italian, French, American or Brazilian, you should tell her: “You dress beautifully.”

I am equally as skeptical of that line. What if she wears rainbow rain boots and brown corduroy trousers? Will she really believe this one?

Whatever, I guess the only way to find out is to try it…
